Matthew Malininewas born and grew up within the “white Russian” emigration from Paris. It is nourished by Russian and Orthodox culture and music.

He is doing graduate studies in music. He first finished the CRR of Rueil-Malmaison and obtained his prizes for analysis, FM, chamber music and choir direction. He continued and completed his studies at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, and obtained a master's degree with a specialization in choir direction.

Throughout his life, he trained in Russian music and Russian Orthodox liturgical singing with the best musicians and choirmasters in Europe and Russia.

     

From 2007 to 2021, he lives in Geneva. He is the choirmaster at the Russian Orthodox Cathedral. He teaches music in schools and at the popular music conservatory (CPMDT).
During this period, he kept his ties with Paris. He provides liturgical singing lessons at the St Serge Institute. At the Rachmaninoff Russian Conservatory, he is the conductor of the conservatory choir, and provides choir and orchestra conducting lessons with Marc Korovitch.

 

In 2021 he returns to live in Paris. He obtained the positions of FM teacher and conductor of children's and teenagers' choirs at the CRR 93 in Aubervilliers. He is a singer and choirmaster at St Serge Church. He teaches choir direction at the Lux Amoris school (at the St Roch church).

 

Since the year 2000, he has been regularly called upon as singers, choirmaster, teacher, for concerts, courses, congresses, conferences, various celebrations, as a professional musician and specialist in Russian Orthodox liturgical chant, both in Europe, than in Ghana, Argentina, Lebanon and Russia.

He is the artistic director and choirmaster of the vocal ensemble Malinine - EVM, which performs in France but also in Europe.

 

The ensemble is invited to festivals and is also requested for private concerts (château de Vaux le Vicomte, Russian Embassy, private homes, etc.) as well as for ceremonies (weddings, funerals, commemorations, etc.) .

The Malinine Vocal Ensemble specializes in Russian music (folk, classical, religious).
